In 2013, Amadeus wanted to start a corporate social responsibility strategy and involve its 211 employees in its definition. To take on this challenge, the company turned to ekodev, sustainability consulting and services firm.
Amadeus employees first learnt about the secrets of biodiversity around two hives set up on the rooftop of their building. They harvested their own honey and labelled it with their own name. Employees were given the opportunity to make a donation in exchange for their honey pot in order to finance a reforestation programme in partnership with Pur Projet. Amadeus also took part in the Sustainable Development Week. Employees were pleased to take part and get involved. Then, the company structured its approach with carbon accounting and a CSR audit involving all stakeholders.
As a subsidiary, Amadeus pushes its good practices to the group level. The company wins second prize in the group’s Social Responsibility Excellence trophy.
